Groupe Air Sénégal, operating as Senegal Airlines, was an airline with its head office on the property of Léopold Sédar Senghor International Airport in Dakar, Senegal.[3] It is a regional carrier operating a scheduled domestic network and regional flights to neighbouring countries. Its main base is Léopold Sédar Senghor International Airport.

The airline was launched after Air Sénégal International ceased its operations in 2009, and made its first flights on January 25, 2011.[4]

Senegal Airlines's CEO is Edgardo Badiali, the former CEO of GoAir and MyAir.[5] It is 64% privately owned.[5]

On 12 April 2016, it was announced by Senegal's Minister of Economy, Finance and Planning, Amadou Ba, that Senegal Airlines had formally ceased all operations.[1] Senegal Airlines had accumulated over 100 billion CFA francs ($172 million US dollars) from its inception until it was shut down, thus the reason for shutting down the airline.[6] However, a new flag carrier for Senegal is imminent, as the country plans to establish an all-new carrier in the near future.[7]
