Shea Taylor
Shea Taylor is a songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist based in New York City. He's established a successful songwriting partnership with Def Jam's R&B singer-songwriter phenom Ne-Yo, and has also worked with Rihanna, Beyoncé, Janet Jackson, Chris Brown, and Wyclef Jean.[1] He has won an ASCAP Award,[2] and has been nominated to the Grammy Awards.[3]
Taylor has songwriting credits on seven tracks off the Beyonce record entitled 4.[4] The album is certified platinum[5] and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with first-week sales totaling over 300,000.[6] "Love On Top" made it to the top of the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart[7] and Adult R&B Airplay chart in March 2012.[8] "Run the World (Girls)" also reached number one on the US Hot Dance Club Songs[9] and is certified Gold in the US and New Zealand and Platinum in Australia and Canada.[10] "Best Thing I Never Had" climbed to the top of Nielsen's Urban airplay chart in September and peaked at number four on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.[11]
Taylor co-wrote the lead single "Thinkin Bout You" and "Pilot Jones" on Frank Ocean's debut channel ORANGE.[12] The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart[13] and number two on the UK R&B Albums chart.[14] It also debuted at number two on the Billboard 200.[15] Shea Taylor's songs are represented by Downtown Music Publishing.
