Sheikh Akbar (born November 4, 1993) is an American YouTube personality, vlogger, prankster, actor and singer from New York City best known for his YouTube videos.[1][2]
Early life and career
Akbar was born on November 4, 1993 to Bangladeshi parents in New York. He attended John Jay College of Criminal Justice. In 2011 Akbar started a YouTube channel named "TrueStoryASA" with his friend Adam Saleh and in January 2015 they posted their first video which became viral. Sheikh Adam Saleh quickly gained popularity through their YouTube channel TrueStoryASA. They split up in May 2015 over unknown reasons.[3][4] Akbar now has separate YouTube channels named "Sheikh Akbar" and "SA Vlogs". He mostly uploads public pranks and comedy videos.[5] Akbar released his debut single "Diamond Girl" as the part of TrueStoryASA in May 2015 with Adam Saleh featuring Mumzy Stranger.[6] He has also performed at many events in the United Kingdom[7][8] In 2015, Akbar appeared in the comedy film American Sharia.[9]
