Ticket t+
The Ticket t+ is the standard single trip ticket for Paris public transit. It can be bought from ticket machines or staffed counters, but not on board buses. It is available either as a single paper ticket at the price of €2.10, or as a pack of ten tickets (known as a carnet) at the price of €19.10.[1] Since 2019, the ticket can also be loaded onto a reusable Navigo Easy card, which can be purchased for €2 at staffed ticket counters and select ticket vending machines. The cost of the carnet is reduced to €16.90 when loaded onto Navigo Easy. Starting 2021, Île-de-France Mobilités is in the process of phasing out the use of paper tickets, which is still ongoing as of 2023; many stations do not sell carnets in paper form anymore. A reduced-price carnet is available for children under 10 years old and some other groups[2] for €9.55 (or €8.45 when loaded onto Navigo Easy).
General use
The Ticket t+ can be used as a single trip ticket on:[3]
- The complete Métro network.
- Zone 1 of the RER and Transilien networks (inside the city limits of Paris).
- The complete tramway network, except express tram lines (Line 11 Express and Line 13 Express).
- The complete RATP bus network, in the city of Paris and its suburbs, including Noctilien night buses (except a small number of "long-distance" lines for which 2 tickets t+ need to be validated).
- Most of the Optile bus network, a union of the private operators of bus lines in Paris outer suburbs.
- The Montmartre funicular.
Exceptions and details on use
On the Métro and rail network, the Ticket t+ is valid for a single trip, allowing for connections (between Métro and RER lines) for a duration of 90 minutes, until the user leaves the ticketed station areas. The ticket is not valid on RER lines outside the city limits of Paris (zone 1), while it is valid on the Métro network even outside the city limits.
On the bus and tramway network, the Ticket t+ is valid for a single trip of any length, allowing for transfers to other bus and tramway lines for a duration of 90 minutes between the first and the last validation. The ticket cannot be used for a return trip using the same line, and cannot be used to board the same line after interrupting a trip.[1] Transfers to or from the Métro/rail network are not permitted.
The ticket is not valid for the Orlybus and Roissybus airport bus shuttles, not valid on Orlyval, and not valid on express tram lines. It is also not valid for trips on the RER and Transilien that leave the city limits (Zone 1), including trips to La Défense, the airports, Versailles, or Disneyland Paris. For these trips, a paper ticket billet origine-destination needs to be purchased.
