University of Florida Hillel is one of the oldest Hillel Foundation organizations in the United States. The organization was founded in 1947 at the University of Florida and currently serves around 8,000 Jewish students who attend the university.[1]
In October 2004, University of Florida Hillel opened up its headquarters at Norman H. Lipoff Hall. This facility is over 20,000 square feet (1,900 m2), and replaced the 50-year-old facility named the Hillel House. Lipoff Hall is equipped with a living room gallery, the Hillel Rose Colen Library, and the Aliyah Bet & Machal Museum.[2][3]
University of Florida Hillel sponsors numerous campus wide activities. Rabbi Adam Grossman has been the executive director of University of Florida Hillel and the Gainesville Hillel since 2014.
