Untitled Colin Warner project (also known by the title Darker Than Blue) is an upcoming American drama film written and directed by Matt Ruskin. Based on a true story, the film stars Keith Stanfield as Colin Warner, a teenager who spent 20 years in prison for a murder he did not commit. The cast also includes Nnamdi Asomugha, Nestor Carbonell, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Sarah Goldberg, Josh Pais, Yul Vazquez, and Ron Canada.

Plot

Brooklyn teenager, Colin Warner, is wrongfully convicted of murder and he leaves his best friend, Carl King, to devote his life to proving his innocence.

Production

The project was announced on August 6, 2015, with the casting of Keith Stanfield and Nnamdi Asomugha in the film's two leading roles.[1] Matt Ruskin serves as the writer and director, with Primetime Emmy Award-nominated Lila Yacoub serves as executive producer.[2] Deadline.com reported that newcomer Natalie Paul would have a supporting role in the film on September 15, 2015.[3]

Principal photography began on September 9, 2015 in New York City.[1][2]
