James Wallace O'Connor (August 25, 1903 – October 11, 1950) was an American competition swimmer and water polo player who represented the United States at the 1924 Summer Olympics, 1928 Summer Olympics, 1932 Summer Olympics and 1936 Summer Olympics.
In the 1924 Olympics he won a gold medal in the 4x20-meter freestyle relay event. He also was a member of American water polo team, which won a bronze medal. He played one match.
Four years later he was a member of American water polo team, which lost to France in a bronze medal match in the 1928 Summer Olympics water polo tournament. He played two matches and scored one goal.
In the 1932 Olympics he was a member of American water polo team, which won a bronze medal. He played all four matches.
Four years later in Berlin, he was a member of American water polo team, which won one and lost two matches in his preliminary group of the 1936 Summer Olympics water polo tournament. He played all three matches, and was the American flag bearer during the opening ceremonies.
