XEK-AM La Estación Grande de Nuevo Laredo is a Spanish-language Talk format with Adult Contemporary music that makes it the most unusual AM station serving the Laredo, Texas, USA and Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico border area. XEK was founded on May 17, 1937, by Ruperto Villarreal when he was only 18 years old and was one of the first stations in the Laredo / Nuevo Laredo Market.

XEK's original callsign was XEDF-AM; additionally, the original concession called for the station to broadcast on 790 kHz. These parameters changed in the 1950s; the XEK callsign was brought over from 970 AM in Mexico City so that the XEDF calls could be moved there.

XEK-AM broadcasts on a frequency of 960 kHz.
