Draper Town Center[1][3][2] is a light rail station located in Draper, Utah, in the United States, served by the TRAX Blue Line of the Utah Transit Authority's (UTA) TRAX system. The Blue Line provides service north from this station to Downtown Salt Lake City.

Description
The station is located at 1131 East Pioneer Road (12400 South). However, while there is easy pedestrian and bicycle access from East Pioneer Road (including direct connection to the island platform from the sidewalk on the north side of East Pioneer Road), vehicle access and parking is only possible from East Draper Parkway (12300 South). Connecting bus stops are on East Pioneer Road, southwest of the station platform. The station can be easily accessed on East Draper Parkway from 1300 East. The station was built in the historic center of Draper between 12300 South and 12400 South next to Draper's city hall, the Draper Poultrymen and Egg Producers' Plant (now operated as Intermountain Farmers Association [IFA]), and Draper City Park. It is situated in an area where the railroad right-of-way on which the TRAX line is built turns east-southeast at the base of a retail-covered hill to the northeast; the right-of-way (proposed for use in Phase 2 of the Draper Extension, and already incorporating a rails-with-trails multi-use path) continues east, then south and west in a curve following the contours of the land in order to gain elevation on its approach to the Point of the Mountain pass and enter Utah County. The Draper Branch of the Salt Lake County Library is located just south of the station (off 1130 East). Immediately south of the passenger platform (on the north side of East Pioneer Road) is an exhibit that includes an historic rail car and the history of Draper, particularly the history of egg production in the area.[4]
The station has a free Park and Ride lot[Note 1] to the north of the passenger platform which is easily accessible from East Draper Parkway (from 700 East, 1000 East, 1300 East, and I-15). Due to the slope of the hillside on which it is built, the Park and Ride lot is terraced, with the Draper Canal running between sections of the lot. The station is scheduled to open 18 August 2013 as part of the Draper extension of the Blue Line and is operated by Utah Transit Authority.
All of UTA's TRAX and FrontRunner trains and stations, streetcars and streetcar stops, and all fixed route buses are compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act and are therefore accessible to those with disabilities.[7] Signage at the stations, on the passenger platforms, and on the trains clearly indicate accessibility options. Ramps on the passenger platform and assistance from the train operator may be necessary for wheelchair boarding on Blue Line (weekdays only). These ramps are not used on weekends. In accordance with the Utah Clean Air Act and UTA ordinance, "smoking is prohibited on UTA vehicles as well as UTA bus stops, TRAX stations, and FrontRunner stations".[8]
Future plans
While the Draper Town Center station is the terminus of Phase 1 of the Draper Draper extension, in Phase 2 of the Draper extension UTA plans two more stations further south along the railway right of way. The planned stations will be along Highland Drive and at about 146000 South. UTA has not provided any specific date by which work Phase 2 of the extension will begin.[9]
Train schedule
On weekdays the first (northbound) Blue Line train (to the Salt Lake Central Station) leaves the Draper Town Center Station at about 5:00 am and the last train leaves at 11:43 pm. However, the last train only goes as far as the Fashion Place West Station; the last train to the Salt Lake Central Station leaves at 10:28 pm.[Note 2]
On Saturdays the first (northbound) train leaves at about 6:30 am and the last train leaves at 11:48 pm. However, the last train only goes as far as the Central Pointe Station; the last train to the Salt Lake Central Station leaves at 10:28 pm.[Note 2]
On Sundays the first (northbound) train leaves at about 10:15 am and the last train leaves at 8:48 pm. However, the last train only goes as far as the Central Pointe Station; the last train to the Salt Lake Central Station leaves at 7:08 pm.[Note 2]
Blue Line trains run every fifteen minutes on weekdays and every twenty minutes on weekends.[10][11][Note 2]

- ↑ On 1 July 2013 UTA announced that beginning immediately it was starting a one year pilot program involving most of its TRAX and FrontRunner Park and Ride lots. The purpose of the new program is to make rider connections with the Salt Lake City International Airport more convenient by avoiding the need to park at the airport. The programs allows UTA patrons to park for an "unlimited amount of time" in the designated Park and Ride lots. In addition, UTA will allow free parking in all of its parking garages. Previous UTA policy limited parking to no more than 24 hours, except at its parking garages. As part of the year-long pilot program, "UTA will measure parking lot usage and monitor costs, maintenance requirements, impacts to snow removal and security issues before determining if the program will be extended." There are eight Park and Ride lots that are excluded from this test program and the 24-hour time limit will still apply to these lots. Draper Town Center Station's lot is included in this test program.[5] Notwithstanding permission to park for extended periods in the applicable Park and Ride Lots, updated signage at the stations advises that the UTA Transit Police request that they be notified anytime a car is parked in one of the lots for more than seven days.
