Fly-Away Baby is a 1937 American comedy-adventure film featuring Glenda Farrell as Torchy Blane, solving a murder and smuggling case during a round-the-world flight. This is the second film in the "Torchy Blane" movie series by Warner Bros.[1][2] The film was released on June 19, 1937.

Plot

After a jeweler named Milton Deveraux is murdered and his diamonds is stolen, Torchy Blane (Glenda Farrell) newspaper reporter on the police beat, and girlfriend of detective Steve McBride (Barton MacLane), help to investigate.

Sonny Croy (Gordon Oliver) becomes a prime suspect. He is the son of a rival newspaper owner. Sonny has a solid alibi from the victim's partner, Guy Allister, that they were having lunch at the time of the murder.

As the investigation widens, Torchy is assigned to join an air race aboard an airship and a flying boat. Sonny learns what Torchy is up to and appears to be the murderer, but is found dead himself. Allister is the actual killer, but when he tries to parachute out of the aircraft, he falls to his death.
