Jacklyn Sheryl Rosen (born August 2, 1957) is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Nevada's 3rd congressional district since 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, she defeated the Republican Party nominee Danny Tarkanian in the general election held on November 8, 2016.

Early life and career
Rosen was born in Chicago. She enrolled at the University of Minnesota, and graduated in 1979. While attending college, her parents moved to Las Vegas. She moved to Las Vegas after graduating, taking a job with Summa Corporation, and worked as a waitress at Caesars Palace. In the 1980s, she began to work for Southwest Gas, and then opened her own consulting business.[1]

Elections
2016
Rosen declared her candidacy for the United States House of Representatives seat in Nevada's 3rd congressional district in the 2016 elections.[2] Rosen won 60% of the vote in the Democratic Party primary election,[3] and defeated Republican nominee Danny Tarkanian in the general election.[4]

Rosen was sworn into office on January 3, 2017.

Rosen is running for the U.S. Senate in the 2018 election.[5]
Personal life
Her husband, Larry, is a radiologist. Their daughter, Miranda, is a college student.[6] She has also served as the president of the Congregation Ner Tamid synagogue, a Jewish Reform synagogue.[1][7] Rosen resides in Henderson, Nevada.[1]
