‘’’Miss India International’’’ is an award or title given to a woman who represents India at the Miss International beauty pageant. The award is currently presented by at the annual Glamanand Supermodel India Beauty Pageant organized by Glamanand Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. owned by Nikhil Anand.[1][6][5]

Glamanand Supermodel India Beauty Pageant is an annual pageant in India held since 2014. In the year 2015, they awarded the first ‘’Miss India International’’ title to Supriya Aiman in September 2015. In October the same year she represented India at Miss International 2015 held in Tokyo, Japan.

History

The ‘’Miss India International’’ was first awarded at the Eve's Weekly Miss India pageant organized by a Mumbai based magazine in the year 1960. The winner of the pageant, Iona Pinto was awarded as Miss India International 1960 and represented India at the inaugural edition of Miss International pageant held in the 1960 in the United States, where she placed as first runner up.[4][3][7]

For three years, 1960 to 1962 the award was awarded at the grand finale of Eve's Weekly Miss India pageant and the first runner up was sent to Miss International in 1961 and 1962 while the winner represented India at Miss World. For next five year till 1967 no award was awarded and no Indian representative was sent to Miss International. The pageant was revived in the 1966 but the winner was sent to Miss World. In the year 1968 the pageant was held again and Mumbai based model Sumita Singh was declared the winner of the pageant. She represented India at Miss International 1968 and was placed in the top 15.[4][3]

Till the year 1988 the award was awarded at the grand finale of the Eve's Weekly Miss India pageant and the winner of the pageant was chosen to represent India at Miss International. But after the year 1988, Eve’s Weekly pageant was discontinued and later in the year 1991, The Times Group bought the rights to send India’s representatives to Miss International pageant and till the year 2014 the award was awarded at Femina Miss India owned by The Times Group.[8][2][4][3]

In the year 2015, ‘’Miss India International’’ became a part of Glamanand Supermodel India Beauty Pageant when the president of the pageant Nikhil Anand acquired the rights to send India’s representatives to Miss International pageant.[9][10][11][12][1][6]

Currently the award is being presented at the grand finale of the Glamanand Supermodel India Beauty Pageant and the winner of the pageant is de facto the recipient of the award and later in year, the winner represents India at the annual Miss International beauty pageant based in Tokyo, Japan.[1][6]
