Estropipate (INN, BAN) (brand names Ogen, Ortho-Est), also known as piperazine estrone sulfate, is a synthetic, steroidal estrogen. It is a salt of estrone sulfate and piperazine.

Uses
Estropipate is used to:
- Alleviate symptoms of menopause as hormone replacement therapy
- Treat some types of infertility
- Treat some conditions leading to underdevelopment of female sexual characteristics
- Treat vaginal atrophy
- Treat some types of breast cancer (particularly in men and postmenopausal women)
- Treat prostate cancer
- Prevent osteoporosis
Pharmacology
Estropipate is an agonist of the estrogen receptor (ER). In addition, estropipate has been found to act as an inhibitor of OATP1B1 (IC50 = 70 nM).[1]
